PRIVACY POLICY MAKU INTERIOR

MAKU interior values your privacy. Therefore, we only process data that we need for the improvement of our services and handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never provide your data to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by MAKU interior. The effective date of these terms is 27/07/2023, and with the publication of a new version, the validity of all previous versions expires. This privacy policy describes what data we collect about you, how we use it, and with whom and under what conditions we may share this data with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, protect it against misuse, and outline your rights regarding the personal data you provide to us.

If you have any questions about our privacy policy, you can contact our privacy officer, and you can find the contact details at the end of our privacy policy.

DATA PROCESSING

Below, you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), the security techniques we use, and who has access to the data.

WEB STORE SOFTWARE

Ecwid
Our web store is developed using Ecwid software. Personal data that you provide to us for our services is shared with this party. Ecwid has access to your data to provide us with technical support and will never use your data for any other purpose. Ecwid is obligated, based on the agreement we have with them, to implement appropriate security measures. These security measures include SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Ecwid uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software, but no personal data is collected and/or stored. Ecwid reserves the right to share collected data within its own organization to further improve its services.

Gmail
For our regular business email communications, we use Gmail services. This party has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of your data and ours. Gmail does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all email communication confidentially.

PAYMENT PROCESSORS

Mollie
For handling (part of) the payments in our web store, we use Mollie’s platform. Mollie processes your name, address, and place of residence information, as well as your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and share anonymized data with third parties for that purpose. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Mollie’s services for which they engage third parties. Mollie does not retain your data for longer than legally permitted.

REVIEWS

Webwinkelkeur
We collect reviews via the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review through WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this information with us, so we can link the review to your order. WebwinkelKeur also publishes your name on its own website. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to provide an explanation for your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we will share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur solely for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to engage third parties for the purpose of providing its services, for which we have granted WebwinkelKeur permission. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of the services for which WebwinkelKeur engages third parties.

SHIPPING AND LOGISTICS

GLS
When you place an order with us, it is our task to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of GLS for the execution of the deliveries. For this purpose, it is necessary that we share your name, address, and place of residence details with GLS. GLS uses this data solely for the execution of the agreement. In case GLS engages subcontractors, GLS also provides your data to these parties.

INVOICING AND ACCOUNTING

Snelstart
For the administration and accounting of our business, we use the services of Snelstart. We share your name, address, and place of residence details, as well as details regarding your order. This data is used for the administration of sales invoices. Your personal data is sent and stored securely. Snelstart is bound to confidentiality and will treat your data confidentially. Snelstart does not use your personal data for any other purposes than described above.

PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

General
We use your data solely for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of processing is always directly related to the assignment you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If we use your data to contact you at a later time – other than at your request – we will explicitly ask for your permission. We do not share your data with third parties, except to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality based on the agreement between them and us or an oath or legal obligation.

Automatically Collected Data
Data automatically collected by our website is processed to further improve our services. This data (such as your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data.

Assistance in Tax and Criminal Investigations
In certain cases, MAKU interior may be obligated to share your data due to a legal obligation concerning tax or criminal investigations by government authorities. In such a case, we are required to share your data, but we will oppose this within the limits of the law.

Payment Terms
We retain your data for as long as you are a client with us. This means that we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you inform us of this, we will also consider it a request to be forgotten. This also means that we will not retain your data for more than two years after our last contact or transaction, unless there is a legal justification for it. Based on applicable administrative obligations, we are required to keep invoices with your (personal) data, so we will keep this data for the duration of the applicable term. However, employees no longer have access to your client profile and the documents we have created based on your assignment.

Rights
Under the applicable Dutch and European legislation, you have certain rights regarding the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. We will explain below which rights these are and how you can invoke them. To prevent abuse, we may ask for copies of your data to be sent only to your already known email address. In case you wish to receive the data at a different email address or, for example, by mail, we will ask you to identify yourself. We maintain an administrative record of handled requests; in the case of a forget request, we will keep anonymous data. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority if you suspect that we are using your personal data in an improper manner.

Right of Access
You have the right to always view the data we (or have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or is traceable to you. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all data with an overview of the processors who have this data, stating the category under which we have stored this data.

Right to Rectification
You have the right to always have the data we (or have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or is traceable to you, adjusted. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation that the data has been adjusted.

Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to always restrict the data we (or have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or is traceable to you. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right to Data Portability
You have the right to always have the data we (or have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or is traceable to you, executed by another party. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies or copies of all data about you that we have processed or that have been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties. Most likely, we will no longer be able to provide services in such a case because the secure linking of data files can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to Object and Other Rights
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of MAKU interior. If you object, we will immediately stop processing the data while awaiting the resolution of your objection. If your objection is justified, we will provide you with copies and/or copies of data that we (or have) process(ed) and that we share with you, after which we will permanently stop processing.

You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies. If you believe otherwise, please contact our privacy officer.
